New division of DISTRICT: From Monday there will be 12 – Topky in the orange phase

The districts of Banská Štiavnica, Gelnica, Kežmarok, Košice I.-IV., Levoča, Poprad, Spišská Nová Ves, Stropkov and Vranov nad Topľou will be included in the degree of vigilance. All other districts remain in the monitoring stage, ie in green.

In green districts, fully vaccinated can perform most activities without restrictions, with slight restrictions, must include unvaccinated or untested for COVID-19. Wearing drapes remains mandatory indoors in both green and orange districts. In the orange districts, stricter conditions apply, for example, for mass events, restaurants, fitness centers or wellness, as well as weddings and kari. The number of people will depend on the mode chosen by the organizer.

Operators and organizers of mass events will decide for themselves which persons will be allowed to enter. They can choose from three regimes, namely fully vaccinated, OTP (vaccinated, tested, after overcoming COVID-19) and the so-called basis, ie all customers without distinction.

The slight increase in the number of new cases continues

The epidemiological situation in Slovakia continues to increase slightly. Currently, there are approximately 70 PCR confirmed cases per day, with children under 16 currently accounting for approximately 18 percent of cases. The delta variant dominates with practically 100% representation in the sequenced samples at approximately 180 sequenced samples per week. The spokesperson of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic, Zuzana Eliášová, informed about it.

In the last two weeks, 80 percent of cases have occurred in people who have not been vaccinated at all or are not fully vaccinated. The seven-day incidence in Slovakia is approximately ten.

The positivity of tests (both PCR and antigenic) is also growing, with the average seven-day positivity exceeding one percent for the first time since the second half of June (with an average of 6,000 tests per day). The highest positivity was in the districts of Banská Štiavnica (6.4 percent), Myjava (6.1 percent), Revúca (3.5 percent) and Stropkov (3.2 percent).

Income, discharge and the number of patients in hospitals remain stable (since mid-July). The number of non-vaccinated people over the age of 50 has fallen to approximately 806,000 people with significant regional differences in vaccination coverage of this at-risk population. Vaccination at the age of 50+ with at least the first dose is 59.2 percent. The total vaccination rate with at least the first dose is 42.5 percent.

Within Europe, the most significant case growth is currently in countries such as Kosovo, Albania, Bulgaria, Switzerland and Serbia. Neighboring countries with Slovakia have a slight increase in cases, most notably in Austria, where the seven-day incidence has risen from 40 to more than 60 in a week.
