During his visit to Kyiv, Polish President Andrzej Duda called for the removal of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea between Russia and Germany. Duda declared that “there is no chance of a return to normality” in connection with relations with Moscow. At the same time, he called for the introduction of new rules for the removal of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, writes the PAP agency. Poland, together with other countries of Eastern Europe, has been criticizing this joint project of Russia and Germany for a long time, which, according to them, strengthens the Kremlin’s power over Europe and threatens the security of the entire continent. The German government refused to put the gas pipeline into operation in February because of the impending Russian attack on Ukraine. However, the Nord Stream 2 project still has its supporters in Berlin, DPA reminds. The Crimean Platform is an international diplomatic initiative by Kyiv to seek ways to restore Ukrainian rule over the annexed Crimea. The first summit of the platform was held last August. “Crimea is the same part of Ukraine as Gdańsk and Lublin belong to Poland, Nice to France, Cologne to Germany and Rotterdam to the Netherlands,” Duda also said.
