Updated 13:06 20/8/2022, 12:22 It doesn’t pay to save on tires. A 61-year-old woman from the village of Hrušové also paid for it. She slipped on the wet road after the rain and they couldn’t help her anymore. The fatal accident happened behind Stara Tura. The accident happened over Lake Dubník. The woman was returning home at the time. The young driver opposite the moving car could no longer prevent the collision. “According to the damage and contact points on the vehicles, the driver already had problems with directional stability before the collision. She was trying to compensate for the skid she got before the crash. “Unfortunately, she didn’t make it and turned to the right and crashed head-on into the oncoming vehicle,” explained Marko Pribula, an expert from the road transport department. “She skidded, as a result of which she went in the opposite direction, where at that time the Škoda Octavia vehicle was coming. There was a collision of vehicles and the subsequent overturning of the Škoda Fabia vehicle onto its roof,” informed Katarína Kuzmová, spokeswoman for the Trenčín Regional Police. “Three participants in the traffic accident, two of whom were injured. One person was trapped in the vehicle, which we freed using a hydraulic tool, and was subsequently transferred to the care of the emergency medical service,” said the commander of the intervention, Martin Jarábek. Old tires The main road between Stara Tura and the village of Hrašné was impassable for more than three hours. An expert explained the possible causes of the fatal accident. “This is again a case where the old familiar black lady officiated speed and plus in combination with unsuitable tires,” explained Pribula. A surprise was brought by the inspection of crashed cars. Nobody expected what they found on the tires. “The tires were from the year of manufacture 2009. The driver was driving a vehicle that was shod with old weathered winter tires, which are absolutely unsuitable for such a road surface,” added the expert.
