After the train ride in the snack warehouse, Zora, a wheelchair user, experienced another humiliating ride | TVNOVINY.sk – TVNOVINY.sk

Driver Zora Lednárová, who had to travel by train in a warehouse with refreshments in July, had another problem this week on the way from Bratislava to Berlin. She had locked toilets in her carriage for immobile passengers. The Office of the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities drew attention to this on the website. After the July trip, when cans of drinks fell on the wheelchair user and her son, the commissioner Zuzana Stavrovská was personally escorting Lednárová to the Bratislava railway station and checking the situation. Apparently thanks to the recent media coverage, according to the commissioner’s office, it “went almost like clockwork”. Later, however, complications arose, which, according to the office, should have been taken care of by the Czech and Hungarian railway companies. “Supposedly, the Hungarian railway company to which the wagon belongs did not operate (did not put) water in the toilet, so they simply locked it,” the office informed. According to him, the wheelchair user announced the trip in advance, as transport companies request to ensure the travel of people with disabilities. You can read the entire journey from Bratislava to Berlin in the post published by Zora Lednárová on the social network: The office announced that it is solving the July case when Lednárová had to travel in a warehouse with refreshments. They also met with her legal representative. “She announced that she was preparing to file a lawsuit,” he said, adding that they would be fully cooperative. In July, the Office of the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities received 40 initiatives, which is the same amount as in 2018. However, it is also 20 initiatives less than in February of this year. According to Stavrovská, incentives come in approximately the same number and at the same pace as in other periods. As of Thursday (August 18), the office has registered 28 complaints for August.
