Slovakia was hit by a wave of storms, which brought precipitation to our territory, but in the coming hours, much more dangerous weather is likely to await us. After the extreme drought that plagued our territory, we can feel another extreme in some areas of our territory. There is a threat of floods after heavy rainfall. Our territory has been divided into two halves since yesterday. The weather in the western part of the territory is affected by a cold front, which brings a wave of intense storms to western and central Slovakia. At these moments, another wave of storms is approaching our territory. However, while it is stormy and dry in the western half of Slovakia, sunny and very warm weather prevails in the eastern half of the territory with temperatures up to +35 °C. In the next few hours, however, you have to prepare for a significant worsening of the weather. A wave of very intense precipitation and storms awaits our territory, which could even cause floods. The expected precipitation totals are extreme. Precipitation will be intense. The weather is affected by the cold front, whose progress has literally stopped over Slovakia, and the cold front will continue here until Wednesday, when it will gradually disintegrate over our territory. On this cold front, separate waves of storms and precipitation will develop from the south, while the next wave of precipitation expected from the evening will be intense. An extensive precipitation field should arrive over our territory during the evening hours from the south from Hungary. It will advance over the entire western Slovakia and slowly turn towards the west. Rainfall should increase in intensity during the morning. The amount of precipitation will be refined, but one thing is certain. The most precipitation is expected in western Slovakia.
