Ukraine’s next success? Russia reports a downed drone over the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet – Novy Chas

A drone was shot down over the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol in annexed Crimea on Saturday, a local official reported. TASR took over the report from the AFP agency. “The drone was shot down just above the fleet headquarters” in the city of Sevastopol, city governor Mikhail Razvojaev wrote on the Telegram social network. He blamed Ukrainian forces for the attempted attack. “It fell on the roof and caught fire,” he wrote, with no major damage or casualties. The latest attack against Russian military infrastructure in the annexed territory activated air defense systems in Evpatoria in western Crimea. It was the second attack against the fleet headquarters in less than a month. A July 31 drone strike in the headquarters’ courtyard injured five people and led to the cancellation of celebrations planned for Fleet Day. On Thursday, Russian forces shot down a drone near the Sevastopol air base. On Tuesday, explosions destroyed a military base and an ammunition warehouse in Crimea. In early August, an explosion at Saki Air Base killed one person and injured several others.
