The US had information about Putin’s intentions long before the war: Shocking details! They doubted Zelenski – Topky.sk

Archive VIDEO First lady of the USA Jill Biden visited the border crossing with Ukraine Vyšné Nemecké America had serious suspicions of the upcoming military plan four months before the war, but no one believed them. The road to it was longer than we thought. Diplomatic meetings, but also transfers of people and military equipment. The Americans had serious doubts about Zelensky. They did not believe that he was an equal opponent to Putin. One October morning, the most important people in America were sitting in the Oval Office, the Vice President, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense and the head of the CIA. The meeting was initiated by Jake Sullivan, the National Security Adviser, after intelligence gathered about the impending invasion. He went from uncertainty to concern and finally to warning. He came up with extensive analysis, along with satellite images and communications from inside the Russian military, with serious suspicions of Russia’s military plan to lead an invasion of Ukraine. His plans seemed much more radical than those of 2014, with a plan to take control of most of Ukraine’s territory from multiple directions. This plan was presented to Biden as a threat to NATO’s eastern flank. However, the alliance was not sure that America knew how to deal with Putin after the bad experience with the administration of Donald Trump, who tried to undermine the alliance, so they were not even sure that the US could represent the Western response to the Russian invasion. While taking office, Biden promised to keep the country out of new wars. The alliance was aware that Ukraine would need new weapons to be able to defend itself, but they feared direct NATO contact with a nuclear-armed Russia. Kiev wanted a puppet government, the US knew which direction it would take. An extensive article published on the Washington Post writes about the details that preceded the conflict itself. They drew on interviews with more than three dozen representatives from the USA, Ukraine, Europe and NATO. The USA assumed which direction the Russians would take, they also knew that the attack would probably take place in the winter, so that the hard ground would facilitate the passage of tanks, they wanted to conquer Kiev in three to four days, remove the president and establish a puppet government. After taking control of the planned territories, they would push further west towards the north-south line that stretches from Moldova to western Belarus, while in the west they wanted to leave behind, according to Putin, a “dirty Ukrainian state”, the one inhabited by incorrigible neo-Nazi Russophobes. CIA director William J. Burns was the only one who had direct experience with Putin, as he served as the US ambassador to Russia. Putin was already too fixated on Ukraine in the past and it fit into his concept of Russian identity and authority. He knew that Putin meant it. Just a few weeks after the summit between Russia and the USA, Putin published an essay in which he mentioned that Russians and Ukrainians are one people and the West stole their own territory. However, this post-meeting essay caught their attention. Analysts also understood that Putin was running out of time to cement his legacy as “one of Russia’s great leaders.” The United States, Britain and other NATO members have spent years training and equipping Ukraine’s military, which is more professional and better organized than before Russia’s attack on Crimea and the eastern Donbas region seven years ago. The weapons they supplied were mainly small caliber and defensive so as not to be perceived as a Western provocation. However, the US administration also had serious concerns about the young Ukrainian president, who came to office on a huge wave of public support and a desire for fundamental changes, but lost public standing in part because he did not fulfill the promise of peace with Russia. It seemed that Zelenskyi (44) was no match for the merciless Putin. Photo gallery (5) In the photo, the flags of NATO member countries are flying in front of the NATO headquarters in Brussels.

However, Patrushev thought they were going to discuss the next Putin-Biden meeting and seemed surprised that the CIA chief came forward with information about Ukraine. The US tried to inform the Ukrainian government as soon as possible. It happened in November at the climate conference in Glasgow. However, Zelensky found the information about the war from the US too speculative and he was afraid of an economic collapse, so he only announced that he would inform his people. Also because every other comment from the US towards Russia meant a change in the exchange rate of the Ukrainian currency. Zelensky’s chief of staff, Yermak, mentioned how it would have been if they had succumbed to panic earlier, the economy would have suffered 3 or 4 months earlier. According to the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, there was very little relevant information until the last four days before the start of the invasion. At the end of October, Biden disclosed the information to the representatives of Britain, France and Germany. But most were doubtful. For several months, the US has been trying to convince other allies in the alliance of the serious threat posed by Russia. But it was hard for them to understand Putin’s ambitions, it didn’t seem like something a rational country could undertake. Other countries rather assumed only a localized conflict in the east of Ukraine. Photo gallery (5) Dmytro Kuleba

Putin claimed that the Western alliance’s eastward expansion was a major factor in his decision to send troops to Ukraine’s border. He claimed that Russia was only protecting its own interests and territorial integrity. He reiterated his position on Ukraine — formally offered in mid-December in two proposed treaties — that NATO must end its expansion plans and halt any activity in countries that joined the alliance after 1997, which include Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Baltic states. However, the alliance did not agree. While Biden has repeatedly said there will be no US troops in Ukraine, the Pentagon has increased pre-deployed weapons stockpiles in Poland and moved helicopters there from Greece. Other units were sent from Italy to eastern Romania, and others went to Hungary and Bulgaria. Over the next several months, the US military presence in Europe increased from 74,000 to 100,000 troops. The four airborne fighter squadrons became 12, and the number of surface combatant ships in the region increased from five to 26. The US national security adviser mentioned that they only meant to say that they take diplomacy seriously, but they are so worried that they prefer to move people and material. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kuleba also commented on this move, noting that no other country in the world has done more for Ukraine to get the necessary weapons than the United States of America since February 24. But from the beginning, he and other Ukrainian officials believe the “non-provocation” strategy was wrong. Biden spoke with Putin again by phone. On February 12, the White House told the Russian president that “while the United States remains ready to engage in diplomacy, in full coordination with our allies and partners, we are equally prepared for other scenarios.” On February 24, Putin launched an invasion. It is possible that even more details will surface after interviews with more than three dozen people.
