Macron, after speaking with Putin, announces a long and hard war in Ukraine

After a long telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin, Emmanuel Macron has again announced difficult and very hard times for Europe, comparing the current situation with the Allied landing with which the final battle that put an end to Hitler’s Nazi regime began. The French president was to commemorate the LXXVIII anniversary of the liberation of the small town of Bornes-las-Mimosas, where the liberation of France began on the southern Mediterranean front, in 1944, after the American landing in Normandy, Italy and France. Before celebrating the event, with much fervor, Macron had a long telephone interview with Vladimir Putin, drawing apparently very pessimistic consequences, inviting the French and Europeans to “pay the price necessary to ensure our freedom.” “It is necessary to resist to accept the necessary price to pay” Alluding to the Allied landing, with which the beginning of the end of Nazism began, Macron established a direct parallelism with the situation in which Europe finds itself, in this way: “From the brutal attack launched by Vladimir Putin on February 24, the war has returned to our borders, in Europe. When I think of our people, I tell myself that it will take a great strength of soul to face the challenges that await us. It will be necessary to resist uncertainties and adversity, to accept, together, the price that will have to be paid to defend our freedom and our values«. During his message to the Nation, on the occasion of the national holiday, on July 14, commemorating the taking of the Bastille in 1789, Macron announced “blood, sweat and tears”, and a predictably hard and difficult winter. . Continuing this task of dramatic and historical pedagogy, Macron wanted to make the memory of the Allied landing in the French Mediterranean coincide with a new unsuccessful conversation with Vladimir Putin. The result of that conversation has returned to be simply null. And Macron warns of the foreseeable national and European sacrifices that will be necessary to face the coming autumn and winter months, fearing that the war in Ukraine will be long and uncertain.
