The Lamborghini Urus Performante arrives to be the king of high-performance SUVs – Fuel Car Magazine

– Advertising – It’s not every day that we can ensure that the “most normal” launch of the day was a Lamborghini. But this is the motor world, full of surprises and madness. Before you is the Urus Performante, the long-awaited performance version of Lamborghini’s SUV that also traveled to Pebble Beach to rub shoulders with the cream of the automotive industry. Its bright green color helps it stand out from the many launches that grace the shores of Monterey, California. Taking advantage of its time in the United States, Lamborghini took the Urus Performante to Pikes Peak where it set a record time in the production SUV category. 10:32:064 was his record, unseating the Bentley Bentayga with 15 seconds difference. So the “on steroids” version of Lamborghini’s most popular model comes with serious performance credentials. Intense green > Lamborghini yellow. Bull with more vitamins The improvements of the Urus Performante start in its engine, from which Lamborghini managed to squeeze 16 more hp. Now, the power rises to 657 horses (or 666 CV to make it sound impressive), although its torque remains at 850 Nm. However, the real improvements of the Urus Performante are in everything that surrounds the engine. Carbon fiber, that material that cannot be missing and that runs through a large part of the body of this Toro. Not only does it reduce its weight, but it also improves the aerodynamic cut of the Urus, generating 38% more load in the rear. In fact, the entire aesthetic kit is reminiscent of something that Mansory would create, but without garish colors or ultra-aggressive parts. The wheel arches also receive changes designed to improve airflow, which work hand in hand with the front splitter, diffuser and rear spoiler. The bonnet is carbon fiber, the exhausts are from Akrapovič and the suspension is lowered by 20mm; Lamborghini insists that the look of the Urus Performante is reminiscent of the Huracán STO even if it doesn’t look like it. In total, the diet was 47 kg, although it must be considered that this truck still weighs 2,150 kilos. Fast and exclusive However, this is a two-tonne SUV that exceeds 300 km/h and has a 0-100 km/h time of 3.3 seconds. It almost seems unreal that a vehicle this big is so fast. Such is the performance that Pirelli developed special semi-slick tires just for the Urus Performante. Lamborghini knows well what kind of wealthy customer this SUV is aimed at. If you ignore the huge 22- or 23-inch wheels, stepping into the cabin is a familiar sight. Lamborghini adds a few cosmetic touches, like alcantara seats with a hexagonal pattern, Performante logos on the door trim, and black anodized aluminum accents. Lamborghini also offers an even darker package to spruce up other parts of the cabin, as well as a range of customization typical of an exotic car. Almost as exotic as its value, which amounts to 260,676 USD. The price for receiving more performance and distinction.
