Lamborghini Urus Performante, faster, lighter and more aggressive – Highmotor

Written by: Mónica Redondo @MonicaRedondoD August 19, 2022 3 minutes The Lamborghini Urus Performante will have a starting price of around 218,487 euros. Do you want to know him more? The Lamborghini Urus was one of the first high-performance SUVs to shake things up, but now the brand is pushing the bar even further with the all-new Lamborghini Urus Performante. This new model aims to take “the supreme performance and distinctive appearance of the SUV to the next level.” The Lamborghini Urus Performante is distinguished by an aggressive front bumper and a ventilated carbon fiber hood. The latter is available fully painted or with visible carbon fiber for a touch of sportiness. Speaking of the lightweight material, you can choose it with a carbon fiber roof reminiscent of the Huracán Performante and Super Trofeo. Depending on the market, the SUV will have a carbon fiber front splitter and black air intakes, which provide an aggressive appearance and better engine cooling. Designers also gave the model new air intakes, carbon fiber wheel arches and a larger spoiler that helps increase rear downforce by 38%. Meet the new Lamborghini Urus Performante Staying at the rear, the crossover has been fitted with a carbon fiber diffuser and carbon rear bumper. They are joined by an Akrapovič titanium sports exhaust system, which produces a “characteristic Lamborghini resonance”. For a sportier stance, the Urus Performante rides on new steel springs that lower the model by 20mm. The wheelbase is also increased by 16mm, while the crossover rides on lightweight 22- or 23-inch wheels that feature titanium bolts and specially developed Pirelli P Zero tires. The sporty styling continues in the cabin, as the model comes standard with black Alcantara seats that feature hexagonal accents. Buyers will also find black anodized aluminum trim and a flat-bottom sport leather/Alcantara steering wheel. Lamborghini will offer a number of options, including a dark package that sees various controls and switches given a matte black treatment. Customers can also opt for leather and Ad Personam options, such as matte carbon fiber trim and red door handles. Given that this Urus carries the Performante moniker, it’s no surprise that the crossover has lost weight and gained power. Starting with the latter, the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 has been tuned to produce 666bhp and 850Nm of torque. That’s an increase of 16 hp and allows the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 306 km/h). The improved performance is due, in part, to the Performante’s “highest number of carbon fiber parts in its segment.” They help reduce the weight of the crossover by 47 kg, giving the model the best power-to-weight ratio in its class. Improved performance and reduced weight are only part of the story, as the Urus Performante has been fitted with a recalibrated steering system, promising more “precise inputs and direct feedback”. The model also gets a new differential to optimize torque distribution, as well as revamped driving modes. Thanks to all these updates, the Urus Performante has already proven its worth as the model set a new Pikes Peak record with a time of 10:32.064. This beat the previous SUV record of 10:49,902. Deliveries are scheduled to begin later this year and pricing starts at €218,487. Lamborghini Urus SUV
