Police open fire after refusing to comply: one dead and one seriously injured in Vénissieux

The driver was shot in the head by police and in serious condition. The passenger died of his injuries. An individual died on the night of Thursday to Friday, in Venissieux after refusing to comply, BFMTV learned from a police source. Another was seriously injured. The facts took place around 00:05 in the parking lot of a supermarket while four members of the police tried to control a vehicle reported stolen. The driver starts and rushes towards a policeman who uses his weapon and is then struck, thrown on the hood and then to the ground. Another policeman shoots in the direction of the vehicle, the 26-year-old driver is hit in the head and the 20-year-old passenger is also affected. Two open investigations Despite cardiac massage performed by the emergency services, the passenger died of his injuries. The driver was transported to hospital in serious condition, his life prognosis is engaged. The police officer with slight injuries to his legs went to the hospital for examinations. Two investigations have been opened, one for violence against person holding public authority and the other entrusted to the IGPN as each time there is use of the weapon.
