Forest fires are raging in the Valencian Community, in Bejís (Castellón) and in Vall d’Ebo (Alicante), where they are still very active and the situation has become more virulent in recent hours. The flames have forced the preventive eviction of the municipality of Sacañet, and a firefighter has been injured during the extinction work in Castellón. Meanwhile, in Alicante, the flames have already burned 11,500 hectares, although during the night there have been no new evictions or damage to homes. The most serious situation since last night is recorded in Bejís, where a nature protection agent displaced from Aragón has been injured and last afternoon another ten people were injured, four of them with burns, three of them serious, when they decided to flee the train they were traveling to Zaragoza, when they were surprised by the proximity of the flames. As explained by the Government delegate, Pilar Bernabé, the accident occurred when the train driver saw ash falling and decided to return with the train in the direction of origin. In this return maneuver, a group of travelers decided to open the doors and exited the train, and was hit by the flames at some point near Torás. Some of the travelers who left the train returned to it and others traveled on foot to Caudiel, where they were picked up. The Castellón fire has two more virulent locations, in the Ragudo area and in Sacañet, a municipality that has been preventively evacuated shortly after two o’clock last morning due to a change in wind direction. The evacuation of this municipality is added to those of three other towns: Bejís, Torás and Teresa. In this way, 80 people have moved from affected areas to the town of Alcublas, where the Red Cross has installed a temporary shelter in the sports center, although most are people who were in their second homes and have returned home, for what few need shelter.
