During the audition, she insulted the film’s director, Cameron Crowe, by not agreeing with the script, and that’s why she didn’t get the role. “I don’t understand who he is because he doesn’t really love her. So I don’t understand this movie,” she recalled telling him. And then my agent called me and said, “Are you crazy? Did you just say that this movie doesn’t make any sense?” And the actress stood by her words because, according to her, it’s impossible to make a love story where a guy isn’t actually in love with a woman.
