The storm warning lasts until 8:00 p.m. for the districts of all regions except Trnava and Bratislava. Thunderstorms may be associated with heavy downpours of 20 to 30 millimeters per 30 minutes, wind gusts of 65 to 85 kilometers per hour and hail. “The intensity of the accompanying phenomena is common for the given time of year and area, but it can cause damage of a smaller scale. During storms, human activities can be limited and health can be at risk,” warned the meteorologists. Wind can cause minor damage to vegetation and objects, while flying debris and unsecured objects pose a risk to human health. Hail can damage vegetation, and at the same time, a continuous layer of hail on the road can temporarily limit road traffic.
