This results from a survey among employees of the Department of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, the results of which were presented on Monday by Minister of Labor Milan Krajniak (We are a family). In an internal survey, the department addressed 45,000 people and received 3,044 responses. Couples who are married showed the greatest interest in such housing, followed by single people, followed by divorcees and finally widowers. This is based, among other things, on the average salary in individual regions, so according to the model example, a tenant in Bratislava should pay 658 euros per month for a three-room apartment, including fees and utilities, while in the Banskobystrické region it is only 440 euros and in Prešovský it is 391 euros. “Rental housing is interesting when the difference compared to a mortgage is from 100 to 300 euros,” said Holý. The sums are the maximum, they can be lower, Holý promises. Four financial groups showed interest in participating in the project of rental apartments in Slovakia. These are the Finnish construction concern YIT, the Vienna Insurance Group, the Swedish Heimstaden group and the bwsg company. Together, these groups could allocate six billion euros to the project, which would cover roughly 40,000 rental apartments.
