Video: find the procession of the Virgin Mary in the streets of Le Panier – La Provence

This is one of those traditions that the people of Marseilles always like to perpetuate. This August 15 at 5:00 p.m., on the occasion of the Assumption, several dozen bearers will lead the Virgin Mary from the cathedral of La Major to the church of Saint-Laurent. Every year, the procession of the Madonna crosses the streets of the Panier district, followed by many faithful and curious people who hang envelopes on the statue containing photos or requests for such and such a sick or recently deceased loved one, and asking for the protection of the Virgin until the following year. The most fervent believers do not hesitate to present their baby in the image of Mary or to take part in the barefoot procession.
