Eva Rysová was born on August 16, 1932 in Hajnáček. She graduated from the gymnasium in Lučenec. She tasted the magic of theater boards as a high school student, when she performed in performances of the Timrava Theater Ensemble in Lučenec. Although she originally wanted to be an architect, acting eventually won out. After finishing her studies at VŠMU, she worked in the years 1955 – 1960 in the then Army Theater in Martin. For the next five years, she performed on the boards of the Regional Theater in Trnava. In 1966, she became a member of the New Stage drama in Bratislava. As a theater actress, she applied herself not only as a representative of psychologically complex female characters, but also in comedic roles. She played Isména in Sophocles’ Antigone, Olga in Chekhov’s Three Sisters, Gertrude in Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and Irina Arkadinová in Chekhov’s Chaika. She demonstrated her comedic talent, for example, in the role of Agnes in Moliere’s School of Women, Helena in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, or Rosaura in Goldoni’s The Cunning Widow. She passed on her rich acting experience to acting students at VŠMU and also at the Church Conservatory in Bratislava. In 2016, the actress had an unfortunate fall and suffered a brain hemorrhage. The family provided her with a nanny, but she was still relatively independent and liked to receive visitors. However, over time, she also stopped contacting close colleagues. “I haven’t seen her in a long time. The last time was about two years ago, when we visited her with the entire Drama Club at home. She lives in a facility where she is taken care of, but is said to be out of the picture, unfortunately. He doesn’t know much about himself. Now we don’t visit her anymore. I’m very sorry,” her co-star Ľudmila Swanová told the Plus 7 days weekly in April.
