It’s raining on Matovič from all sides! SaS’s cup of patience has overflowed: This is how it was with the billion-dollar package – Nový Čas

The vice president of SaS responded to the statements of OĽaNO members about vetoing the family package. The Freedom and Solidarity Party (SaS) claims that it was not possible to veto the billion-dollar Family Package, which the Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO) movement came up with. SaS therefore considers OĽaNO’s statements about vetoing the package to be misleading and untrue. SaS spokesman Ondrej Šprlák informed about this in a press release today. Branislav Gröhling, vice president of SaS and a member of the negotiating team, stated that it was Matovič who “claimed not only at the coalition councils but also in the media that we cannot veto his unfair and sometimes harmful billion-dollar idea because it is in line with the government’s program statement.” He added , that OĽaNO recognized only SaS’s veto on higher taxes. Gröhling admitted that SaS and the Za ľudý party appealed to Matovič not to override the president’s veto with the members of the Ludová strana Naše Slovensko (ĽSNS). it was crossing the Rubicon for us. We warned Matovič that such cooperation would bring consequences,” added Gröhling, who is convinced that the OĽaNO leader is harming Slovakia. The vice-chairman of the SaS would like other coalition MPs to admit this, “whose character is more prominent than the parliamentary chair.” The Minister of Justice and a member of the SaS negotiating team, Mária Kolíková, confirmed that it was heard several times at the coalition councils that vetoing the mentioned package is not worth it. It was a similar situation to the various bonuses directed by Igor Matovič in the fight against the pandemic, when a quasi-legal analysis was suddenly used when the SaS veto was applied, saying that the veto cannot be used,” said the minister. She added that the coalition agreement mandates respect for coalition partners and coalition decisions. “A gross violation of the legislative process against the will of a coalition partner is automatically a gross violation of the coalition agreement,” stated Kolíková. In conclusion, she added that verbal attacks towards the SaS regarding the violation of the veto are “a verbal exercise that, I believe, an ordinary citizen can read well .”
