A tragedy took place in Kriván in the afternoon. According to TV Markíza, lightning struck a group of Polish tourists, and one of them succumbed to his injuries. Another, who suffered injuries to the face and spine, was taken by air ambulance to a hospital in Poprad. “After arriving at the scene of the accident, the doctor and the mountain rescuer were lowered into the terrain using a winch. On the spot, between the rocks, one man was lying motionless, who, unfortunately, no longer showed any signs of life, and the doctor could only pronounce him dead. The second, 33-year-old tourist was thrown after the impact and suffered injuries to his face and spine,” the air rescue service reports on its Facebook page. The rescuers prepared him for evacuation from the place in the transport network, during the stopover the doctor supplemented his treatment and he was subsequently transferred to the hospital in a stabilized condition.
