We have already known for a few weeks that Bose is preparing a new headset for its QuietComfort range. In parallel with Bose Headphones 700 launched two years ago now, the American manufacturer is preparing a successor to the Bose QC35 II, the Bose QuietComfort 45.

Already spotted on the website of the FCC in the United States, the helmet was the subject, this Tuesday, of a big leak in the columns of the German site WinFuture. The site, specializing in high-tech news, has thus got its hands on marketing visuals, but also on the technical characteristics of what promises to be one of the main competitors of the Sony WH-1000XM4.

On the design side, Bose should stay in the same approach as the QC35 II, launched almost four years ago. We should therefore find controls at the buttons – and not by sliding the fingers as on the Headphones 700. On the right earpiece, we would find, on the outside, a slider allowing you to turn on the headset, manage Bluetooth pairing or switch from one source to another. Under this same earpiece, Bose would have integrated the volume buttons as well as the central play button. Finally, as on the Bose QuietComfort 35, we would find under the left earpiece the button to call the voice assistant or manage noise reduction. On the connector side, we can also see what appears to be a jack, but also a USB-C socket for recharging. An evolution from the micro-USB used on the QC 35 II.

If the design should not change radically, WinFuture nevertheless reports some changes concerning the characteristics of the helmet. In addition to active noise reduction, it would also benefit from an ambient mode. The Bose QuietComfort 45 would also integrate an automatic equalizer to adjust frequencies according to the volume of listening. It would therefore not be a customizable equalizer, but rather an automatic system like on the Google Pixel Buds to increase the bass at low volume.

On the material side, the Bose QC 45 would use synthetic leather and nylon to offer a light and resistant helmet. This was already one of the main qualities of its predecessors.

24 hour battery life

Autonomy would also be there, since, according to WinFuture, the marketing elements of Bose indicate that the headset would carry a 460 mAh accumulator. This is a decrease compared to the 495 mAh of the QC35 II, but the announced autonomy would be 24 hours with active noise reduction against 20 hours for the previous model. The headset could also recover 2h30 of battery in 15 minutes of charging and the full charge would take 2h30.

In terms of price and availability too, WinFuture reveals some information. The site indicates that the helmet will be ” Coming soon “ in Germany. On the price side, it would be offered in the United States at $ 329. As a reminder, the QC35 II was launched at $ 349, while the Bose Headphones 700 was launched two years ago at $ 400. In Europe, we can therefore expect a price of 330 euros for the Bose QuietComfort 45.
