Xiaomi launches its new wireless charger: 100W of power – Frandroid

Xiaomi launches a powerful and bulky charger in China.

For several months, Chinese manufacturers have been engaged in a charging war. It is to who will propose the fastest wired charging, or true remote wireless charging. There is also the matter of the speed of induction charging.

On this last point, Xiaomi should lead the dance with its new product, the Xiaomi Mi 100W Wireless Charging Stand. As the name suggests (and the title of the article you clicked), it is capable of sending 100W to the smartphone.

A bulky charger

To achieve this power, Xiaomi obviously had to do with design constraints. The product is quite voluminous in image, it will therefore be necessary to reserve space for it.

The charger is designed to act as a base for the phone, with a triangular design that will also ensure that the smartphone can be vertical. If the charger is mainly offered in a black color, we can note copper accents on the base, as well as ventilation.

It is obviously necessary to feed the charger itself and Xiaomi has the good idea to do it with its 120W charger with a 6A USB cable. A wired charger that should be possible to reuse while traveling if you unplug the wireless charger for example.

To use it at full power, you will need a recent smartphone: a Mi 11 Pro, a Mi 11 Ultra or one Mix 4.

Launch in China for the moment

Xiaomi’s 100W wireless charger is announced for China only. It is difficult to know if the brand will offer it internationally. This may depend in particular on the charger’s compliance with the standards of different countries.

In China, the charger is sold at 599 yuan, or around 80 euros excluding tax.
