American actress Anne Heche was seriously injured on Friday in an accident in which she crashed her car into the family home in Los Angeles. This was reported by the DPA agency with reference to the American media.
The incident took place in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles. The local fire department reported on Twitter that the car caught fire after the impact. The woman who was found in the driver’s seat was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. 59 firefighters arrived at the scene and it took them 65 minutes to fully control and extinguish the fire.
Firefighters have not released the identity of the driver, but according to celebrity website TMZ, the person sitting in the blue Mini Cooper was Heche, 53. According to witnesses, she crashed into the garage complex with the same car earlier, but when local residents tried to help her, she put the car in reverse and drove away.
The portal also published a photo capturing Heche in the car shortly after the first impact. He pointed out that there was a bottle with a red cap, probably from alcohol, in the cup holder next to the shifter.
TMZ also managed to obtain footage from a street camera, which shows a blue Mini Cooper speeding through one of the streets of the Californian metropolis.
