BRATISLAVA / As the news portal aktuality.sk reports, Marián Kočner will probably soon be indicted in other major cases. After the promissory notes (for which he is already serving his sentence), the preparation of assassinations of prosecutors and the murder of Ján Kuciak (in both of which the court proceedings are ongoing), the investigator also suggested this in the cases of Donovaly and Báč. According to the police, Marian Kočner owned two properties, which he was supposed to gradually sell between his companies. In some he was a manager, in others a partner, in others a director – the law enforcement authorities want to prove that he still controlled the Residence Hotel and Šport Hotel de facto. Thanks to their transfer between companies, he received eight million euros in VAT returns, Aktuality reports. Together with Jana Šlachtová and Petr Pech, he is accused of the crime of failure to pay taxes and insurance premiums. The state allegedly robbed another four million euros during the dubious handling of the Welten golf complex in Báč. With the help of a mailbox company and the sale of shares, he got its price to a fraction of the real one and bought it advantageously through another company. Here he is additionally accused (along with lawyer Ján F.) of damaging creditors, robbing sixteen of them for a total of almost three million. In January 2021, the Specialized Criminal Court sentenced Kočner to 19 years unconditionally in the Zmenka case. If found guilty, he faces life imprisonment for the murder of Ján Kuciak and his fiancee, the first-instance decision acquitted him. Legal disputes regarding Marian Kočner have been going on for years:
