A serious traffic accident on the A1 highway in Croatia, which claimed the life of a Slovak citizen on Thursday, was recorded by security cameras, the Croatian news server Jutarnji reported on Friday. Mr. The accident occurred on the 51st kilometer of the highway near the village of Novigrad na Dobri in the Karlovac County in the direction of the Croatian capital, Zagreb. Three cars from Slovakia, Serbia and Slovenia collided. A 46-year-old Slovak lost his life, while seven other people were injured. A security camera footage shows a vehicle with a Slovenian license plate crossing from the right lane of the highway to the left, colliding with another car, Jutarnji writes. The Slovenian vehicle then bounces off the guardrails and hits a third car. Cameras at the scene of the accident recorded that one of the vehicles ended up completely destroyed on the barriers on the left side, and the other a few meters away on the barriers on the opposite side of the highway. A court in the Croatian city of Karlovac will file a criminal complaint against a citizen of Slovenia for causing a traffic accident due to negligence resulting in death and major material damage, the server reports. The Slovenian was supposed to have caused the accident by violating traffic regulations when crossing from one lane of the highway to another. Traffic was closed on the aforementioned section of the highway in the direction of Zagreb for three hours and huge queues formed.
