Travis Barker takes the plane, 13 years after surviving fatal crash

Travis Barker overcame his greatest fear of traveling by plane. As revealed TMZ, photos in support, the drummer of the group Blink-182 went on Saturday August 14, 2021 in a private jet to Mexico with his companion Kourtney kardashian to spend a few days of vacation there. It was the first time in nearly 13 years that the 45-year-old musician had boarded a racing car.

On September 19, 2008, Travis Barker survived a plane crash in South Carolina that claimed the lives of four other people – investigation revealed technical failures (deflated tires caught fire) and insufficient training of the pilots. He was at the time the only survivor of the accident with his musician friend, Adam Goldstein. Both had escaped with serious burns which had forced them to be hospitalized for long weeks. A few months later, Adam Goldstein died at the age of 36 from an overdose.

After this tragedy, Travis Barker had suffered significant post-traumatic stress, swearing that he would no longer board a plane. Lately, however, he had indicated that he wanted to move on and tame his anxiety. According to TMZ, it is with the support and encouragement of Kourtney Kardashian that he has managed to make this new journey. The 42-year-old reality TV star, who travels regularly by private jet with her family, reassured her boyfriend by providing a plane she knows well (that of her sister Kylie Jenner) and a team of pilots experienced and trusted, explained the site E! News. Mission successful.
