Seine-Saint-Denis: two people seriously injured by police fire in Stains, the IGPN seized – franceinfo

Two people were seriously injured by police fire during the night from Sunday to Monday around 1:30 am, at Boulevard Maxime Gorki in Stains (Seine-Saint-Denis), Franceinfo learned Monday August 16 from a police source. The video of the shootings is circulating and indignant on social networks. It is among the most discussed topics of the day on Twitter.

After a motorist refused to comply, a crew from the Stains crime squad attempted to control the vehicle. The driver switched off the ignition before suddenly restarting. While backing up, he collided with a policeman. A second policeman was then dragged for several meters while trying to stop the vehicle, which was moving forward.

The police used their weapon on several occasions. The driver and his passenger are hospitalized. Their vital prognosis is engaged. Two policemen were also taken to hospital. One is injured in the hand and knee, the other in the ankle.

On the video shared on social networks, it seems that there is nothing to identify the police, who are not wearing an armband or have not turned on a beacon.

Two investigations were opened by the Bobigny prosecutor’s office. One for attempted intentional homicide, by having darkened on a police officer, the other for use of firearm by the police officers. The sub-directorate of the judicial police of Seine-Saint-Denis and the General Inspectorate of the National Police are seized.
