Johnny Depp breaks silence and accuses Hollywood of boycotting his latest film

Johnny Depp gave his first interview since losing his lawsuit against The Sun and accused Hollywood of boycotting him and his latest film, Minamata.

Former Hollywood flagship actor Johnny Depp has seen his career falter since his heated and high-profile divorce from the actress Amber Heard, which is currently preparing the next Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. His image already seriously tarnished by the filming of The Revenge of Salazar, the actor was initially dismissed from Pirates of the Caribbean 6 by disney, who intends to reboot the saga, before losing his lawsuit against the tabloid The Sun, who accused him of domestic violence against his ex-wife.

Bad press forces, Warner and the production of Fantastic beasts 3 have politely showed the actor the exit door, who was to camp villainous Grindelwald again, but was ultimately replaced by Mads Mikkelsen. An article by The Hollywood Reporter released last December also unveiled that the actor was to star in a series on the famous Harry Houdini produced by Jerry bruckheimer, the producer of Pirates of the Caribbean, before the project is paused.

Last July, director Andrew Levitas sent a letter to MGM that he accused of wanting to bury the film, before a spokesperson for the studio responded via Deadline and ensure that Minamata was still part of future releases, the date of which remains to be determined. Most recently, the actor broke the silence and gave an interview to Sunday Times, the first since the loss of his trial, during which the actor complained of being boycotted in Hollywood.
