the essential Inflation causing the French to suffer, several measures will be put in place in August which will relieve – a little – the portfolio of some. We take stock. Rise in the Livret A and LEP rates On August 1, 2022, the Livret A rate will increase, in accordance with the recommendations of the Banque de France relating to regulated savings products. It will thus rise to 2%, whereas it had experienced a historic increase of 1.5% last February, after a low reached two years earlier (0.5%). At the same time, the rate of the People’s Savings Book (LEP), reserved for the most modest, will rise from 2.2% to 4.6%. Increases that still place these rates below the level of inflation estimated at 5.5%. Increase in the Smic It is the Labor Code that says so: in the event of high inflation, the Smic must be revalued upwards. The minimum wage will therefore be increased by 2.01% as of August 1. The hourly net minimum wage will reach 8.76 euros for a monthly amount of 1,329.06 euros for full-time work. This is the fourth upgrade in less than a year. The previous increase took place in May. The thawed index point Frozen since 2017, the index point for civil servants has risen 3.5% this summer. An increase which technically comes into force in August, but which actually takes effect from July 1. Civil servants will therefore benefit from it, retroactively, on their pay for the month of August. Although unprecedented for five years and significant – there had not been such a significant increase for 37 years -, this revaluation nevertheless remains insufficient in the eyes of civil servants, insofar as it does not compensate, here either, for the ‘inflation. End of the state of health emergency This Sunday, July 31 will mark the end of the state of health emergency, as recorded in the health bill passed on July 25. With the “end of exceptional regimes”, it is the health pass that disappears, like the possibility for the government to take measures limiting travel or installing gauges in public establishments. At the same time, the scientific council will therefore disappear, from August 1st.
