In a report this Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m., Météo-France places 24 departments on orange vigilance for heat wave or storm alerts. In detail, the departments concerned are Meurthe-et-Moselle, Moselle, Territoire de Belfort, Vosges, Ain, Haute-Saône, Doubs and Jura, Rhône, Loire, Haute-Savoie, Savoie, Isère, Haute-Loire, Drôme, Ardèche, Hautes -Alps, Gard, Vaucluse, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Alpes-Maritimes, Bouches-du-Rhône, Bas-Rhin and Haut-Rhin. were recorded at Varces (Isère) and 38°C at Lapalud (Vaucluse). “The high temperatures now only concern the south-eastern quarter of the country and Alsace. This situation is likely to last for several more days in the south-eastern quarter”, explains the weather forecasting organization. On the other hand, “ at 4 p.m., thunderstorms are developing over the departments in orange ‘storm’. They are already strong over the Doubs with hail and heavy rainfall (estimated around 25mm). Thunderstorms have also started in Haute- Savoie (small hail observed)”, explains Météo France. “A storm cell probably accompanied by hail also circulates on the extreme south of the Loire and approaches the Isère.”
