Paris enjoyed its beautiful evening. Under the eyes of Lionel Messi, PSG signed a second victory in as many days of Ligue 1. For the first appearance of its Argentine star in front of an audience of the Parc des Princes on fire, the Parisians first did things well against Strasbourg before being scared (4-2).
Carried by a very good Kylian Mbappé, despite the whistles against him when the compositions were announced, the capital club made the difference in the first period. Mauro Icardi (1-0, 3rd), Ludovic Ajorque against his camp in place of Mbappé (2-0, 25th), Julian Draxler (3-0, 27th) and Pablo Sarabia (4-2, 86th) were the Parisian scorers, while Kevin Gameiro (3-1, 53rd) and Ludovic Ajorque (3-2, 64th) caused a wind of panic to blow. After the match, the Parisian players made a communion with their audience, after a 2020-2021 season played almost entirely behind closed doors.

Mbappé was everywhere
At the origin of the goal against his Ajorque camp and author of two assists, Mbappé responded to the Parisian public in the best possible way. Particularly involved in the game of his family, the French gave Lucas Perrin a bad evening. His burst of speed still allowed him to do wonders in his left lane. On two similar actions where he first made the difference, before crossing in front of goal, he scored Draxler (3-0, 27 ‘) and Sarabia (4-2, 86’) at close range. Previously, his curled shot with the right foot was deflected by Ajorque in his own goal (2-0, 25th). Matz Sels even defeated him twice.
Very clearly domineering in the first period, PSG were also able to take the time to set up their game thanks to Icardi’s early goal in the third minute. The Argentinian headed a very good cross from Abdou Diallo to surprise Matz Sels, who had a bad outing. Was he offside? The people of Strasbourg are convinced of this. But the VAR still validated this opening scoring. And the Parisians then took matters into their own hands. At least until the break. Because the second period was not of the same ilk.

Gameiro, the curse continues for PSG
Often victim of a form of curse which consists in seeing his former players score during their reunion with the club of the capital, the PSG thus saw Kevin Gameiro deceive Keylor Navas of a head out of reach of the Parisian goalkeeper (3- 1, 53rd). Fortunately for Mauricio Pochettino’s players, the difference had already been made. Apathetic as they can be when they lead clearly in the score, the teammates of Presnel Kimpembe then saw Ludovic Ajorque bring the Strasbourg to a goal from a new sublime header on a cross from Dimitri Liénard (3-2, 64th) .
Author of two decisive parades in front of Mbappé (48th, 62nd), Sels preserved the hope of his family to go for a draw, before the expulsion of Alexander Djiku, for two yellow cards in two minutes (79th, 81st ), does not give control to the Parisians in the last ten minutes. PSG therefore temporarily takes the lead in the championship thanks to this second victory in as many days. And this just a few hours after Lille’s heavy defeat at home against Nice (0-4).
