Updated 13:19 18/07/2022, 11:37 The life of a 41-year-old motorcyclist was claimed by a traffic accident that occurred on Sunday (17/07) in the cadastre of the High Tatras in the village of Tatranská Lomnica. “While driving, the local motorcyclist drove his motorcycle in the opposite direction for reasons that have not yet been determined, where he crashed into an oncoming bus driven by a 55-year-old Pole. The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries on the spot,” said Jana Ligdayová, spokeswoman for the Regional Directorate of the Prešov Police Force. According to TV Markíza, the regional director of J&T BANKA in the Tatras, Martin Maček, died in the accident. At the same time, Ligday said that the bus driver was subjected to a breathalyzer test, the result of which ruled out the presence of alcohol. Property damage was preliminarily estimated at 10,000 euros. An authorized member of the District Traffic Inspectorate in Poprad in the case initiated a criminal prosecution for the offense of manslaughter. The bank itself also reacted to the tragedy. “This extremely tragic event has affected us all. Martin was not only an excellent colleague, but also a wonderful person. In these moments, we find it very difficult to find the right words. We express our deep sincere condolences to the family, we will stand by them in these difficult moments and help them with everything in our power,” said the director of J&T BANKA in Slovakia, Anna Macaláková.​
