The spread of fake SMS messages that encourage their victims to visit dangerous sites is not a surprising novelty. In many cases, such messages are easily identifiable, and thus their success rate is quite low. However, there are also those who are completely fine with pretending. Newly, fake Prima Bank is trying to deceive people, which warns recipients of the message via SMS about the alleged setting of a new recipient for payments. The report also includes the exact date and time of the change, the final account number and a link to the alleged security page of Prima Banka. However, this site is malicious, its sole purpose being to allow hackers to access the funds of an over-trusting victim. Several pieces of evidence point to the fact that it is a fraud. The first is the name of the sender, which presents itself as “PrimaBanka” – there is no space between the words. The second is the content of the message, which lacks diacritics. The third and probably the clearest evidence is that this message was also received by persons who do not have an account in Prima Bank. If you also received such an SMS, definitely do not click on the attached link. Always use the official website or mobile app to verify any changes regarding your bank account.
