The trial of former general prosecutor Dobroslav Trnk, a defendant in the Gorila case, continues on Wednesday at the District Court (OS) Bratislava I with the playback of audio recordings.
The prosecutor of the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s Office (ÚŠP) filed an indictment against Trnka for the crime of abuse of authority of a public official. According to the conclusions of the investigator of the National Criminal Agency (NAKA), the former head of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Slovak Republic did not prosecute all the crimes he learned about.
The police said that Trnka was supposed to take over an audio recording from businessman Marian Kočner, containing interviews of people from the business environment, politicians and representatives of state authorities. At the same time, suspicions of the commission of several criminal acts, especially of a corrupt nature, were supposed to emerge from the interviews. With the recording, Trnka and two other people allegedly blackmailed financier Jaroslav Haščák.
