Tragic accident on the D2 highway: The truck driver did not survive the collision with the center barriers TVNOVINY.sk – TVNOVINY.sk

The police are currently responding to a traffic accident on the D2 highway in the direction of Bratislava, where a truck crashed into a guardrail. A 55-year-old man did not survive the accident. The police urge drivers to be more careful in the given section. Bratislava regional police spokeswoman Silvia Šimková informed TASR about this.
According to the police, the accident occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m. at the 23rd kilometer. “The driver of a Volvo tractor unit with a semi-trailer crashed into the central guardrails for reasons that have not yet been determined,” Šimková explained. A quick rescue service and a helicopter with rescuers were called to the scene. “Despite their efforts, the fifty-five-year-old man could not be revived,” she added.
The traffic accident is currently under investigation. “In this regard, we inform drivers to increase their caution when driving in this section,” added the spokeswoman.
