Fuels: diesel fuel finally falls below two euros per liter – Le Figaro

The fall in prices at the pump observed in recent weeks is confirmed and amplified. According to the latest data published on Monday by the Ministry of Ecological Transition, at the end of last week, the liter of diesel fell below the symbolic bar of two euros per litre, as did that of gasoline. Something to relieve vacationers who have started hitting the road for a week. Down seven cents over a week, a liter of diesel was displayed at 1.9946 euros, its lowest level since the beginning of June. In parallel, the liter of SP95 cost, on average, 2.0289 euros, that of SP95-E10 1.9820 euro and that of SP98 2.0934 euros. The latter saw their bill lighten by four to five cents over seven days, returning to their level at the end of May. This is the third consecutive week of decline for these various fuels. This dynamic is explained by the significant drop in prices on the markets: the price of a barrel of Brent has seen its price fall in one month, from 125 dollars, at the start June, at 105 dollars on Monday. A development caused by the slowdown in economic activity, uncertainty and the darkening of the outlook. SP95-E10 – the bill remains salty for motorists. The next few weeks will be the scene of fiery debates between the majority and the opposition in Parliament, on the occasion of the examination of the “purchasing power” package, expected in the National Assembly from next Monday. The government clarified its proposals at the end of last week, confirming that the rebate per liter would be maintained at the current level until the end of September, before being replaced by a “fuel allowance” intended for workers forced to take their vehicles from a professional framework. The parliamentary debate should make it possible to specify the measures. For its part, Nupes wishes to block prices at the pump at 1.4 euros per litre.
