today 14:20 | Czech football champion FC Viktoria Plzeň acquired Slovak striker René Dedič on loan with an option. As reported by the official website of West Bohemia, the 28-year-old fit finisher joined the “Victorians” on Friday at a training session in Westendorf, Austria, and immediately scored the first minutes in the preparatory match against Belgian Sint-Truiden. Dedič last worked in the Czech second division Třinac, for which he scored six goals in 12 duels in the spring part of the 2021/2022 season. He says that he considers the engagement in Victoria a huge challenge. “When Plzeň contacted me, I didn’t hesitate for a minute. In the few days that I have been with the team, I have found out that it is a great team and we have a perfect service available. I will do my best to be valid for the team. Now it’s just up to me,” declared Dedič, who also played in Opava and Příbram in the Czech Republic. Sporting director of Pilsen Daniel Kolář claims that Dedič is the type of striker they were looking for at the club. “He is tall, assertive, has league experience and can quickly adapt to a new environment. We are happy that we managed to realize his arrival and we wish him success with us,” stated Kolář.
