Aix-en-Provence: five CRS beaten up leaving the Le Mistral nightclub – La Provence

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, around 5 a.m., five men belonging to a CRS company stationed in the department were molested by a group of about fifteen individuals at the exit of the Le Mistral nightclub. Although they were not in service at the time of the events, the first elements of the investigation suggest that they would have been attacked because of their quality of police officers, according to the Prefecture of police of Bouches-du-Rhône. Contrary to what some media have claimed, referring to a “lynching”, “fractures” or “head injuries”, only one of the five victims was admitted to hospital for treatment, the other four were only slightly injured. Two alleged perpetrators of the violence were arrested shortly after the incident. The investigation continues to try to identify the others involved. More information to follow.
