Sri Lanka demonstrators occupy presidency offices

Protesters – demanding the resignation of Sri Lankan president Gotabaya Rajapaksa – have occupied the presidency offices in Colombo. The agency Dpa reports. The offices are located less than a kilometer from the president’s residence, already besieged by protesters enraged by the serious economic crisis. Police used tear gas without being able to stop the demonstrators. Rajapaksa was moved to a “safe place,” according to an official in his office. There are tens of thousands of demonstrators calling for the resignation of President Rajapaksa.
