Gasoline and diesel prices have finally come down. So far, however, this is only a slight difference. Analysts also predicted this trend some time ago. Despite this, fuel is still extremely expensive. “We should see an impact in the price of fuel at gas stations at the beginning of July,” wrote analysts from the Dáta bez pathos initiative on the social network at the end of June. “I assume that oil prices will stabilize in the near future, and I even think that they could even decrease slightly. And that’s considering how oil prices are starting to fall in recent days, as the market is starting to take into account the risk of recession,” said analyst Stanislav Pánis for TVNOVINY.sk. While on Wednesday the price of gasoline hovered at the level of euro ninety-five, on Thursday it was euro ninety-three. Diesel is a bit more expensive. However, in practice, motorists will not even notice such a decrease in their wallets. In order to save at least 10 euros on an average 50-liter tank, prices would have to drop by at least 20 cents. Prices at the pumps have been rising since the beginning of the new year, their growth was accelerated by the war in Ukraine. Just for comparison, they have risen by up to 50 cents per liter in the last six months.​
