After Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo) and Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) on Friday, it was the turn of Max Verstappen (Red Bull) to dominate a free practice session for the British Grand Prix. On Saturday, on the Silverstone circuit, the Dutch driver, reigning world champion and current leader of the Championship, set the best time in EL3 (1’27”901). On a dry track but under a very threatening sky, Verstappen beat his teammate Sergio Perez (+0”410) and the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc (+0”447). The Mercedes of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton followed. Carlos Sainz, for his part, finished sixth at 0.788. On the French side, Esteban Ocon (Alpine) set the 11th fastest time (+ 1”651), ranking just behind his teammate Fernando Alonso. Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri), he finished 15th (+ 1”984). Now it’s time for qualification, starting at 4 p.m.
