Russia, helicopter crashes with 16 people on board: 8 dead

The toll from the accident involving a helicopter crashed in the eastern Russian region of Kamchatka is eight dead and two injured. The Russian media reported this, citing sources of the rescue services, according to which, “according to the first reconstructions, during an emergency landing of the aircraft eight people were killed, the other 8 were rescued”. On board the helicopter, a Mi-8, 13 tourists and three crew members boarded. Rescue services were alerted at 00.50 local time of the emergency landing of the aircraft belonging to the Vityaz-Aero company in the Kuril Lake region, inside the Kronotsky reserve in the Russian Kamchatka peninsula.
