The alert was given this Tuesday, June 28, 2022 in the early evening while nearly 300 firefighters were mobilized to fight against another disaster which was spreading from Opoul to Salses. All that was missing. At a time when a huge fire was ravaging the Catalan Corbières, a new fire outbreak was reported this Tuesday around 7:30 p.m. in the town of Cases-de-Pène, on the edge of the D59 which climbed dangerously towards the Ecozonia animal park. Three devices, reinforced by a team specializing in animal rescue, have been set up around the zoological park, but also near the Mas Castor and at the gates of the village of Cases-de-Pène and have made it possible to protect the whole homes threatened by the flames. At 9:30 p.m., the fire, whose origin remained unknown, was still not under control and had destroyed 7 hectares of vegetation, but no injuries or material damage were to be deplored and the situation was favorable.
