Mexico: at least 12 dead in confrontation between security forces and alleged criminals in Jalisco

According to Alfaro, the shooting occurred this Wednesday during “a very important operation” carried out after “attending to the report of a safe house in which there were hidden weapons.” In the confrontation, three suspected criminals were also injured, the official said, although he did not elaborate on them. Alfaro also did not provide additional details about the incident and in another publication said that “the Prosecutor’s Office continues to process the place and as soon as this work is finished, the final cut will be announced, so this information is still preliminary.” Until this Thursday, the Prosecutor’s Office had not commented publicly on the incident and had not responded to an additional request for information sent by CNN.
