“I take full responsibility for my mistake at the moment, although as you suggest, this is teamwork, the surgeon is responsible, and it was me,” says a doctor who operated on a patient’s healthy eye at the Bratislava Hospital in Ružinov. The editors know her identity, but decided not to disclose her name. The information was provided by the TASR agency on Wednesday, the case happened on November 3 last year. The patient had an oncological eye disease and lost his sight after an error on the operating table. The incident is being investigated by the Health Care Supervision Authority, which may say whether the health care was provided correctly. It is also dealt with by law enforcement agencies.
