Accumulated delays in some maintenance work have forced Russia to cut gas supplies to Germany and other European countries, including Italy. This was reiterated by the spokesman of the Kremlin, Dmitri Peskov, during a press point. Peskov called the allegations that the cuts in supplies were “politically motivated” “strange” and said that Russia remains a “reliable” supplier and is “fulfilling its obligations”. According to Moscow, the German company Siemens delayed the delivery of components for a turbine that needed to be repaired, forcing Russia to cut deliveries through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline.
