The Côte d’Azur department stands out with an incidence rate of 478 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, far ahead of Bouches-du-Rhône (422) and Var 386. Above all, this rate is higher than the national average, at 475 cases. Hospitalizations that are on the rise As for hospitalizations, their number is on the rise, from 11 to 137 people. Resuscitations also increase, by 2 cases. The explanations for this rebound and this increase in contamination could be found on the side of the BA.5 variant, which comes from Omicron.
