Kaliningrad, what it is and where is the Moscow enclave in Europe

The Russian region of Kaliningrad is an enclave included within the Baltic Sea, Lithuania and Poland, a projection of Moscow in Europe and base of the Baltic Sea Fleet, as well as, since 2018, the Iskanaer missiles, dual (they can be armed with both conventional and nuclear warheads) with a range of 500 kilometers. It was born (the date is set in 1255, the year in which the Fortress was built) as Koenisberg, a medieval Teutonic village, then the capital of Prussia from the beginning of the eighteenth century, homeland of the philosopher Immanuel Kant who was born and lived there without ever leaving it ( is still buried near the cathedral). The city was renamed, and rebuilt, after it was razed to the ground by the Red Army, Kaliningrad in May 1946, less than a year after the annexation of the surrounding region to Soviet Russia, in honor of Mikhail Kalinin, protagonist of the October Revolution just passed away. The annexation to the USSR was sanctioned by the Potsdam peace accords. It was then Russified, with one of the forced movements of populations that characterized the Stalin regime. It had been closed to foreigners until 1991. After the collapse of the USSR, a special economic zone was created, for which most of the goods imported, and brought to the rest of Russia via Lithuania, a road that is now closed, and Belarus, are exempt from duties. The Kaliningrad crisis had already begun, with sanctions blocking imports on which its economy depends almost entirely.
