Dom Phillips and Bruno Pereira were shot to death, authorities say

Remains found in the Amazon belong to journalist Dom Phillips 0:54 (CNN) — British journalist Dom Phillips and activist Bruno Pereira were shot dead in the Amazon “with typical hunting ammunition,” according to a statement from the Federal Police of Brazil broadcast this Saturday. The second body found on Wednesday was confirmed to belong to Pereira, the statement added. Pereira’s remains were compared to his dental records. On Friday, a forensic dental examination carried out at the National Institute of Criminalistics in Brasilia had confirmed that part of the remains found on Wednesday belonged to British journalist Dom Phillips.
