Towards the end of the heat wave? Temperature drops of 5 to 15°C expected on Sunday in places

The heat wave installed for a week on France must gradually end with the arrival of a stormy degradation which will go up by the south-west on the country. This Saturday must be the acme of this week of heat wave before a sudden drop in temperatures over a large part of France. While forecasters expect to reach up to 42°C in the south-west of the country this Saturday, Sunday afternoon the maximum will be only 28°C in Bordeaux (Gironde), 25°C in La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime) and 24°C in Biarritz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), i.e. a drop of almost 15 degrees in places. This drop will be due to a stormy deterioration which could start in the southwest on Saturday evening and overnight. from Saturday to Sunday. It must “go back to Normandy”, notes Vigilance Météo-France. From this night, the temperatures should therefore drop sharply on the western facade. The heat wave will no longer concern “only the eastern flank of the Country” expected during the day on Sunday. The heat wave will then begin to gradually decrease, to no longer concern only the eastern flank of the country”, explains the weather forecasting organization. If the heat wave moves away to the south, the air hot weather should therefore still be present in the easternmost regions. Up to 39°C are thus expected in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin) and Auxerre (Yonne) on Sunday afternoon, 36°C in Belfort (Territoire de Belfort), or even Metz (Moselle).
