BRATISLAVA. The Slovak national football team will be led by a foreign coach. Ján Kováčik, the president of the Slovak Football Association (SFZ), also confirmed this. According to information from Sportnet, one of the candidates is Ivan Hašek, although Kováčik claims that he has not yet negotiated with the former coach of the Czech national team. The 50-year-old Italian is a former assistant to coach Maurizio Sarri. They trained together in Empoli and then in SSC Naples, where they also led Marek Hamšík. It was the former captain of Slovakia, who ended his national team career a few weeks ago, who was to play an important role in his selection. He has been part of Luciano Spalletti’s implementation team in Naples since the summer.
